Cancers of the throat occur because of the papillomavirus (HPV or Human Papilloma Virus)

Some HPV installed in the throat can lead to cancerous transformation of cells. A high number of sex partners with practice of oral sex (number 6 above) is correlated with an increased risk of cancer of oropharynx (throat cancer). And the risk of throat cancer increases with the number of sexual partners. And tobacco and alcohol are still making an additional risk.

How to avoid contamination by HPV?

The first solution is to limit the number of partners to limit the risks. The alternative is to always use a condom during oral sex. A condom for oral sex is classic.
