This is one area in which Vista Ridge is lacking.  The closest grocery store is a 10-15 minute drive west on 7 in Lafayette (although it’s a nice grocery store), if you forget milk, it’s going to be a 30 minute trip to get it.  A new strip mall is going up on the south side of Vista Ridge, and that has a few services, but not many. This will most likely change in the future as there is a lot of development activity along Hwy 7, but currently services and shops are a bit of a drive.

There is a very nice restaurant within the golf clubhouse, but it’s currently the only close one.  If you want to go out for dinner, it is also a 10 minute drive, either to downtown Erie (very limited choices but cute, fun, and independently owned places), or to Lafayette (which also has a good selection of independent restaurants).  One restaurant in Lafayette that deserves special mention is Proto’s Pizza--15 minutes from Vista Ridge—which has the best pizza we’ve ever had anywhere.

The closest hospital is a very nice facility in Lafayette, a 15-20 minute drive from Vista Ridge.

The resturant is very cozy and casual.
