Join us every second Friday of the month for a Current Events Discussion group from August to November. Each month, we will select an article to read from publications like The Atlantic, The New Yorker, The Guardian, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and New York Magazine. You can access all these resources digitally with your library card.

Q: What if I don’t have a library card?

A: We can help you get one. If you need support, you can email atherton@smcl.org, or ask a friendly staff member.

Q: What if I don’t know how to access magazines and newspapers online using my library card?

A: Our first session is December 12 at 11:30am, and it will be an introduction to discuss an overview of the discussion group and instructions on accessing the articles. If you can’t make this session, simply email atherton@smcl.org, and we can setup an appointment to provide instructions.
